He played as a member of several quartets, in the chamber ensemble “ Virtuosos of Rome ”. In 1921 he performed the premiere of the violin concerto Riccardo Zandonai [1] .
To a greater extent, however, was known as a teacher. For many years he worked at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia . Already in 1920 , Arturo Toscanini spoke highly of his students (and, therefore, the pedagogical gift) [2] . Among the students of Principe were Gioconda de Vito , Carlo Maria Giulini , Iona Brown and almost the entire initial composition of the chamber and orchestra " And the Muses ". Wrote the textbook “Violin. Guidance on violin studies and culture ”( Italian: Il Violino. Manuale di Cultura e Didattica Violinistica ; 1939 , together with Giulio Pasquali). He was a member of the jury of leading international competitions (including eight times in the jury of the Paganini Competition ).
The author of small chamber plays. The violin concerto by Nicolo Paganini is sometimes performed with his cadence .
