Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is the debut studio studio album of the Swedish doom metal band Candlemass , released on June 10, 1986 on Black Dragon records . It was re-released in 2003 with a bonus concert CD . The name of the album Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is the stylized Latin name for the style name “Epic Doom Metal” , with which the group was later associated, and one of the founders of which is considered to be.

About the album
An interesting fact is that part of the songs, namely: “Demons Gate”, “Black Stone Wielder” was invented by Leif Edling earlier and published in the album of the predecessor group Candlemass Nemesis called The Day Of Retribution . However, the band broke up shortly after this release, and these songs were transferred to the Candlemass repertoire. They are distinguished from the original by a lively arrangement , the presence of non-guitar inserts and a slightly different rhythm .
