Biography

Pupil of the River Plate Club. After a number of years spent in European clubs ( Parma , Valencia , Sampdoria ), Ortega returned to Argentina in 2004 - first he played for Newells Old Boys , and in 2006 he returned to the River. During the 2008 Klausura draw, Ortega began to have problems with the new team coach Diego Simeone . This mainly concerned violation of the regime due to Ortega’s addiction to alcohol. Despite winning the 33rd league title, Ortega was expelled from the team in mid-2008. In the 2008 Aperture draw, River, the reigning champion, finished in last, 20th place. Ortega, on the other hand, signed a one-year agreement with the club of the second Argentinean division , Independiente Rivadavia [2] . In parallel, he was treated for alcohol dependence in one of the Chilean hospitals. The choice of the team was due to the geographical proximity of the province of Mendoza to Chile.

In mid-2009, Ortega returned to the River. He was called up by Diego Maradona for a friendly match against Ghana on September 30, but did not take part in the game, as he was injured in the game for the River, which preceded the team’s match.

On January 13, 2011, Ortega, on loan, transferred to the Argentinean All Boys [3] .

On August 10, 2011, on loan, he transferred to the club of the third Argentine division “ Defensores de Belgrano ” [4] [5] [6] .

On August 9, 2012, Ortega announced that he had completed a gaming career [7]
