Depot History

The decision to build a locomotive depot at the Voroponovo station of the Stalingrad railway was made by the USSR Council of Ministers in 1949 . [one]

In April 1952, the depot was put into operation, although it did not yet have repair shops. It received twenty locomotives of the CO and E series. At that time, the depot served the shoulder to Chir station. The first chief of the depot was Vasily Vasilyevich Turovets . [one]

In 1959, powerful L-series steam locomotives appeared in the depot. [one]
