The Nash is a Spanish indie rock band . It was founded in 1996 in the city of Palma de Mallorca . To a large extent, the tradition of American indie rock follows, as the band’s founders, singer and guitarist John Tirado and drummer Maucca Palmio, began playing in New York and moved to Spain after the collapse of their previous project Mad Juana . The name of the group was chosen so that it immediately reminded of The Knack and The Clash [1] .
In the first years of the group's existence, its popularity was limited to the island of Mallorca . The year 2000 was marked by an all-Spanish tour with the American band Superchunk , performances in the finals of the Spanish competitions Imaginarock and Ciutat de L'Hospitalet, as well as five concerts at prestigious New York clubs, including CBGB's and Continental Club [ 2] .
