Sokolniki is a historical site and a botanical natural monument of local importance in Kharkov . Sokolniki is located north of the city center in the Nagorny District , between Gorky Park and Forest Park . They also include a new elite village of private development, partially defeated in the early 2000s on the site of the experimental fields of the NIIILH , and partially in the forest zone.
Location and boundaries of the area
From the south, Sokolniki is bounded by Gorky Park , from the east by Belgorod highway , from the north by Memorial, and in the west by the Sargin Yar with the Komsomolsk Reservoir.
In a broader (historical) sense, also include the aircraft factory built on the territory of Sokolniki, b. the military unit and the territory of the KhAZ Kharkov-North airfield, located on the other side of the Belgorod highway, are limited:
now non-existent b. racing racecourse, now the factory " FED " - from the south; st. Pushkinskaya - from the west; Sokolniki street, following the Memorial of Glory to the left of the Belgorod highway, and Rudik street to the right of it - from the north.
Sokolniki Pomeranki
Here is the more extensive botanical monument “Sokolniki-Pomerki”, an object of nature reserve fund with a total area of 163.1 hectares, located in the tract of forestry. Sokolniki-Pomerki received its status by decision of the regional executive committee of December 3, 1984 No. 562. They are under the jurisdiction of the Kharkovzelenstroy UPC. The forest area is represented by oak stands of overgrown origin. The botanical monument “Pomerki” (part of “Sokolnikov-Pomerok”) has an area of 120.4 hectares and is a forest area with plantings of oak , maple , birch , conifers, hazel , spindle tree and early flowering plants.
