Botanical Garden of Kharkiv National University V.N. Karazina ( Ukrainian Botanical Garden of KNU im. V.N. Karazina ) is a structural research institute of environmental protection at the University, an object of the nature reserve fund of Kharkiv of national importance.

History of the Botanical Garden
It was founded simultaneously with Kharkov University in 1804 - the oldest botanical garden in Ukraine. declared a protected object by Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR of July 22, 1983 , approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of October 12, 1992
It was expanded according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine of December 9, 1998 . The total area of the botanical garden is 41.9 hectares. "Old Playground", located on the street. Klochkovskaya 52 has an area of 5.5 hectares; new, on the slope of Sarzhin Yar (24 Otakar Yarosh St. ) - 36.4 hectares.
The collection of the botanical garden includes relics ( ginkgo ), the rarest species of local and world flora, and exotics . The number of species of flora is over 7000.
