Geography
Grosseto is located on an area of 4,500 km². The territory is mostly hilly, however, there are flat areas in the province, areas with a maritime climate , and several swampy areas. The tributaries of the Fiume River also flow here.
History
The province became autonomous in 1766 , when Duke Pietro Leopoldo established the Lower Province of Siena as part of the administrative reforms of the region. Lower Siena Province received the name of the Grosset District .
Economy
The province was recognized in Italy as the first village district due to the absolute dominance of agriculture within the region. At the industry level, small and medium-sized enterprises that work for the needs of the region prevail. Large industrial enterprises operate only in the district of Kason, where there are two large chemical plants operating for the needs of the perfume industry.
