A large sea dragon , or a large sea scorpion , or a snake [1] ( lat. Trachinus draco ) is a species of carnivorous fins of the draconian family (Trachinidae) of the perch - shaped order inhabiting the coastal waters of the European Atlantic , as well as in the Black and Mediterranean Seas (total five species of sea dragons, which are found off the coast of Europe, the northern and western coasts of Africa, as well as off the coast of Chile).

The Russian names for fish are also “snake” [2] , “sea dragon” [3] , “sea dragon” [2] , “sea scorpion”.
Biological description
Elongated with angular big head, bottom fish. The fish has a body up to 40 cm in length and weighs about 300 g. It reaches sexual maturity at the age of three.
The sea dragon prefers soft soils in which it buries, trapping prey in ambush - small fish and crustaceans, high-set eyes remain above the bottom surface.
Sea dragon spikes located on fins and gills are equipped with poisonous glands , the injection of these thorns is very painful for humans [4] [2] . Sea dragon - the most dangerous poisonous fish of Europe; there are known deaths of people after they were injured by sea dragons.
