Soup with noodles and wontons.
Wontons or huntun ( Chinese trad. 餛飩 , ex. П , pinyin : húntún , yue [wɐ̀ntʰɐ́n] , also yuntun kit. Trad. 雲吞 , ex. 云吞 , pinyin : yúntūn , yue [wɐ̀ntʰɐ́n] ) - a kind of dumplings in Chinese food . Wontons are usually served in soup, but sometimes they are fried. They are seasoned not only with meat, but also with syanga mushrooms and stems of young bamboo . Soup with wontons is especially popular for the new year , as it is believed that noodles in it symbolize longevity. Fried wontons can also be sold separately, as a kind of fast food (especially in Hong Kong ). From the Cantonese word comes the name of Japanese udon noodles.
