As the basis for the chassis, a four-wheel drive four-axle off-road vehicle Tatra T815 with a wheel formula of 8 × 8 was used.

Operation and combat use

Dana in the USSR

In 1979, two copies of the “Dana” were tested at the Rzhevsky training ground near Leningrad to study the possibility of adopting it. As a result of the tests, it was concluded that Dana had no advantages over the Soviet counterpart - the tracked self-propelled guns 2SZ Akatsiya .

In 1983, despite the objection of the State Security Administration of the USSR Ministry of Defense, about 10 vehicles for trial operation were purchased. A year later they were returned to Czechoslovakia.
