White Zombie is an American metal band based in New York in 1985. In the beginning, the group played noise rock , but is better known in the industrial genre - groove metal with lyrics based on horror films . Unlike other bands of the 1990s, their songs were based on imagination, and surrealistic fantasies, rather than desires and experiences.

The band officially disbanded in 1998, almost immediately after Rob released his solo album Hellbilly Deluxe . In 2000, White Zombie was included in VH1 "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock", under number 56 [1] .
In February 2011, Rob Zombie in an interview with RockAAA said that White Zombie would never reunite [2] :

Group History
Early years
The idea to create a group came to the vocalist and art director Rob Zombie , while he studied at the Parsons School of Design in 1985 . Together with his girlfriend, Shona Aisolt, he began to assemble a group. Isolt, along with drummer Ivan de Prueme, played keyboards in the LIVE band, but the band split up. Paul Costaby owned the studio , which he rented to various groups. When Isolt met him, she asked him to teach her how to play the bass . Taking drummer Peter Landau into the group, the group began recording songs. Gods on Voodoo Moon's first mini-album was released on October 18, 1985 through their independent label Silent Explosion. 300 copies were issued, but only 100 were sold; The remaining 200 copies of the group are still stored.
In 1986, Zombie invites his college roommate Tim Jeffs to Kostaby's place, while Isolt takes de Prime to replace Landau. At the same time, the group begins to give concerts, the debut took place at the CBGB club on April 28. In the same year, the group released the second mini-album Pig Heaven, which was recorded in the studio 6/8 Studios. The songs “Follow Wild”, “Rain Insane”, “Paradise Fireball” and “Red River Flow”, which remained unreleased, were recorded in the same session. After a short tour, Jeffs' place is replaced by Tom Guey, or Volume 5. The band reissues Pig Heaven with a different cover and Volume 5 on the guitar.
In May 1987, another Psycho-Head Blowout mini-album was released. And a little later, the first full-length studio album of the Soul-Crusher group comes out. John Ricci replaces Volume 5 after the release of the album.
A year later, the group signs a contract with Caroline Records , ending its own label. The second studio album Make Them Die Slowly was released in February 1989 . The album becomes a musical shift for the group: if the early recordings sounded like noise rock , then the clear sound of alternative metal appeared in the new album. In this album, Rob was first listed as a Zombie, not Rob Stracker.
After the album was finished, John Ricci was forced to leave the group, as he had carpal tunnel syndrome . He was replaced by Jay Euger, or simply “J”, who brought a new sound to the band. This can be seen in the God of Thunder mini-album, in which one of the songs of the album was re-recorded.
Success and Recognition
After that, the group began searching for a new label and even arranged contact with RCA Records , but the group signed a contract with the major label Geffen Records . Michael Alago, a label spokesman, became interested in the band after listening to the God of Thunder album and going to a concert at Pyramid Club. He liked the performance, even though the group played mostly their early material. With the help of Jim Turwell, the band recorded a demo , after which they signed a contract with Geffen Records.
March 17, 1992 the third album of La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One is released, which received praise, and the group received recognition. Then White Zombie went on a big tour, which lasted two and a half years, and helped the group become a cult . During the tour, Ivan de Prüm decided to leave the band to become the producer / engineer and drummer of the session and opened his own Burningsound studio. He was replaced by Phil Buerstate. The music video for the song “Thunder Kiss '65” was very popular on MTV . The popular Beavis and Butthead show constantly twisted the band's videos, increasing their popularity. In late 1993 , the RIAA gave the album a golden status . At the end of the tour, in December 1994, the relationship between Zombies and Isolt ended, and the album La Sexorcisto received platinum status . The duo began to have musical disagreements, Buerstate left the group, and John Tempest , known for his participation in the groups Exodus and Testament, was taken in his place. In 1995, Astro Creep: 2000's latest album was released, with the title single "More Human than Human." A year later, Supersexy Swingin 'Sounds remix album was released, the group recorded a song for the movie Beavis and Butthead Do America , after which White Zombie ceased to exist.
