According to the administrative-territorial division of partially recognized South Ossetia , which controls the village, it is the administrative center of the Znaursky district of South Ossetia ; according to the administrative-territorial division of Georgia , it formally belongs to the Karelian municipality of the Shida-Kartli region of Georgia .

Geography

Located on the Prone Sredna River (a tributary of the Ptsa River, the Kura basin), at an altitude of 790 meters above sea level. 25 km west of Tskhinval . Named in honor of the Ossetian revolutionary Znaur Aydarov .

Infrastructure

In Znaur, the woodworking and food industries are developed, and infrastructure facilities operate: libraries, a hospital, pharmacies, preschool and school [5] educational institutions.

There is a House of Culture of Znaursky district . On July 10, 2009, in the house of culture, Kalmyk artists staged various performances. [6]
