Geography

The village of Kodino is located on the Onega tributary - the Kodina River [5] and the Kodina tributary - the Vychera River, 176 km south-west of the regional center - Arkhangelsk , 78 km south-east of the administrative center of the municipal district - the city of Onega [6] .

History

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR of 18.06. 1941 , Kodino was assigned to the category of workers' settlements, with the formation of its council, and transferred from the Plesetsk district to the Onega district. Until the early 1960s, in the village of Kodino, also in its environs, there were correctional camps of the GULZHDS NKVD of the USSR - “ Sorokalag ”, which arose during the construction of the Sorokskaya – Obozerskaya railway line [7] . In 1963-1965, Kodino was part of the Plesetsk industrial region .

Kodino had the status of an urban-type settlement , but in 2002 Kodino was transformed into a rural settlement [3] .

Economics

Pulp mill and timber industry [5] (now Kodinsky PLZU of Onegales OJSC [11] ).

May 14, 1939 at the Special Plant No. 2 of the People's Commissariat of Industrial Development, the first pulping was made [12] .

In 1943 ... 1944, the plant was headed by Dmitry Mikhailovich Ababkov. [13]

In 1945 ... 1946, the director of the pulp mill was Gehtman Joseph Shepselevich [14] .

For 2010, both enterprises do not exist. The pulp mill was the first bankrupt in Russia.

Transport

Kodino railway station on the Belomorsk - Obozerskaya line (between Mudyuga and Glazanikh stations from the north-west and Moshnoye and Big Kama from the southeast) [5] .

The length of roads in the village is 17 km.

In Kodino there was a narrow gauge railway [11] , on it there is the village of Sukhaya Vychera , in which about 7 people permanently live [15] in 2006 [7] . In 2009, the narrow gauge railway was completely dismantled and converted into a road.
