"Dandies" (sometimes - "Dudes", Eng. Dudes ) - a film by Penelope Sfiris . Filmed in the USA in 1987 in a mixture of the genres of road movie and western with an alternation of comedic and dramatic episodes. The first feature film featured on the punk rock subculture , following documentaries by P. Sfiris Suburbia (1984) and The Decline of Western Civilization (1981). [1] Rock musicians took part in the creation of some of the images in the film: Flea ( Red Hot Chili Peppers ) and Lee Wing (Fear, MD.45 ), iconic figures in punk culture of the late 1980s.

Content
Story
Three character characters: Grant , Biscuit, and Milo , professing punk , set out on a used Beetle from New York to Los Angeles in search of a better life. On the road, a gang of "bad guys", in which someone runs Missoula , attacks them and kills Milo. Grant and Biscuit decide to avenge the murder of their friend. They are joined by a young woman, Jesse , who confuses the persecution.

Criticism
- Variety staffers : “How can you take seriously a movie that has pooled Queens punks, cowboys, Indians, and insane killer killers in Utah ? The answer, of course, is no way. <...> Humor, which is used according to calculation, turns into a farce. Hopelessly teenage dialogues, very loud music and plot, completely dependent on a coincidence. ” [2]
- “Dudes has a more commercial focus than some of Miss Sphyris’s earlier films, <...> and consists of a series of unmotivated, insufficiently convincing events. Another problem is tongue-tied dialogs. ” [3]
