Jane's information group

The Jane's Information Group, often abbreviated as Jane’s, is a British military and transport publishing company. It was founded by F.T. Jane , who began his career in this field as an enthusiast and gradually came to publish in 1898 the All the World's Fighting Ships reference book, which has been published regularly since then. Over time, the company founded by Jane grew and gradually the field of its publications covered all spheres of military activity. Jane's Information Group periodicals and news publications are some of the most famous and are considered the most authoritative among military-related publications based on information from open sources. Throughout its history, the Jane's Information Group has changed a number of owners, and for 2008 the current owner is IHS Inc. The publishing house is based in London .
