Awards of the Third Reich

All awards were nationwide (before the Nazis came to power, all awards were purely territorial in nature - were awarded by the rulers of the land). A new award system has been developed in which traditional awards have undergone changes in accordance with the new attributes. Before the start of World War II, Hitler personally appointed and presented all kinds of awards, then this right was transferred to the troops at various levels of command personnel. Such accolades as the Knight's Cross were handed personally by the Führer, or the high commanders did it.
