History

The area was formed on May 10, 1984 [1] . then the city of Solntsevo , the working villages of Zapadny and Meshchersky , the cottage villages of Peredelkino and Choboty, the villages of Zdorovye Otdykh, Lazenki and Lukino, the villages of Orlovo, Sukovo, Tereshkovo and Fedosino with a total area of ​​1.8 thousand hectares were included in Moscow [1] .

The population of the district according to the 1989 census is 98 091 people [2]

In 1991, the administrative division of Moscow was changed : administrative and municipal districts were formed. The territory of the Solntsevsky district became part of the Western administrative district of Moscow and was divided between the municipal districts of Solntsevo and Novo-Peredelkino . In 1995, municipal districts received the status of districts of Moscow
