Mary Leslie ( born Mary Leslie ), after the death of her brother Alexander Leslie, Earl of Ross , became the heiress of her niece, Efimia , Countess Ross. In the sources there are variants of her name “Margarita” and “Mariot”, although her real name was Maria, as mentioned in the Celtic records. She married Donald, Lord of the Islands , and he, on behalf of his wife, applied for the county of Rosskoe. After being detained on the island of Inchkolm in the Firth of Forth Bay, she died in 1429 or in 1440 .
