Asapa [1] ( Spanish: Quebrada de Azapa ) is a drying river in northern Chile in the region of Arica-Parinacota . The length of the river is 128 [2] km. The catchment area is 3,070 [2] km².

The sources of the river are located on the Andean Plateau. Further, the river flows in a westerly direction through a narrow valley. On the middle course it forms a valley, which is important for agricultural activity in the region. It falls into the Pacific Ocean near the city of Arica . The river flows through the territory of the communes of Arica and Putre . The main tributaries are the Seco , Tignamar , Quebrada-La Iguera , Chapikinia .
