The Grand Prix of San Marino is the stage of the world championship in highway-ring motor racing .
Despite the name, races take place in Italy , on nearby tracks. The first race took place in 1981 at the Dino Ferrari circuit , Imola . The following year, the Grand Prix was held on the Mugello highway, Tuscany . In 1985-1987, and since 2007, the stage has been held at the Misano , Rimini , Emilia-Romagna circuit .
