Biography
Jonathan Harr was born in Beloit , Wisconsin , and lives and works in Northampton, Massachusetts . In the past, he was a New England Monthly staff member, writing for The New Yorker and The New York Times Sunday supplement.
Creativity
The Civil Suit novel is an environmental drama about the Andersen v. Cryovac case. Harr spent nine years studying the circumstances of the case and writing a book that was published in 1995 . Shortly after publication, the novel was nominated for a National Book Award and received the National Book Critics Circle Award . Based on the novel, the film of the same name was shot with John Travolta in the title role and with Robert Duvall in the control of lawyer Jerome Fetcher.
