Biography

Before speaking at the 2008 Olympics, she did not show high results, in 2005 and 2008 she took 5th place at the European Championships, in 2007 she was 5th at the World Championships.

Quintavalle is the first and so far the only Italian judoka to win the Olympic Games. Among men, Italians Ezio Gamba ( Moscow-1980 ) and Giuseppe Maddaloni ( Sydney-2000 ) became Olympic champions.
