The name of the waterfall in translation from the southern coastal dialect of the Crimean Tatar language means "flying water" ( uçan - flying, suv - water). Other names of the waterfall are also known: Kremasto-Nero ( other Greek: Κρεμαστόν νερόν - “hanging water”) and Akar-Su ( Crimean-Tat. Aqar Suv - “flowing water”) [4] .
Wuchang-Su Waterfall looks most spectacular during heavy rains and snowmelt on the Yail . In the summer, it dries up almost completely, in severe winters it sometimes freezes. The average annual discharge rate is 50 l / s. During the fall, Wuchang-Su forms two cascades: on the second cascade, a small structure with a water intake and an eagle sculpture on the roof is built. From here, water enters the Mogaba reservoir (300 thousand m³) and then is used to supply water to Yalta [5] .
In 1947, the Uchan-Su waterfall was declared protected, since 1973 its location is located within the territory of the Yalta State Mountain Forest Reserve [6] .
