The International Federation of Resistance Fighters ( Fédération Internationale del Résistants ; FIR) is an international association of national associations of former resistance fighters, partisans , former prisoners of fascist concentration camps , internees, relatives of the victims, all participants in the fight against fascism .

Created July 3, 1951 in Vienna .
In 1972, FIR included 55 organizations from Austria , Albania , Belgium , Bulgaria , Hungary , East Germany , Greece , Denmark , Israel , Spain , Italy , Luxembourg , the Netherlands , Norway , Poland , Romania , the USSR , France , Germany , Czechoslovakia and the West. Berlin [1] (total number over 5 million people).
The FIH fought for peace, against the revival of fascism in all its forms, in defense of the rights and interests of the resistance fighters.
The highest organ of the FIIR is Congress (from July 1951 to September 2008, 14 congresses took place). The congresses elect the president, vice presidents, members of the bureau and the general council. The executive body is the secretariat. Headquarters - in Vienna. Since 2004, the headquarters of the federation is located in Berlin .
The Pravda report on the First Meeting of International Democratic Organizations on May 7–8, 2015, reported that the IFAC has 50 branches operating in 45 countries.
