Career path

Cherish's first single, titled "Miss P", was created under the direction of Germain Dupree , written by Kandy , performed with the participation of Da Brat . All participants are sisters, originally from Maywood, Illinois . Leaving Reprise Records , they signed an agreement with Warner Brothers . They took part in the performance of Da Brat's single "In Luv Wit Chu" in 2003. They recorded 3 songs for the soundtrack of The Powerpuff Girls : Power Pop: “Chemical X”, “Power of a Female” and “Me and My Girls”. An entire album was later recorded called The Moment, but its release was delayed for unknown reasons. After 3 years, the band returned with the hit “ Do It to It, ” where Sean P and YoungBloodZ sang with them. The single took the 12th line of the Billboard Hot 100 and hit many other charts . The second single from the album was “ Unappreciated ”.

2006: Unappreciated

Unappreciated was Cherish's debut album. They wrote almost the entire album themselves and stated that both the album and themselves had become more mature compared to the previous unreleased album. The album was released after the release of the hit "Do It to It" August 15, 2006 and was called "Unappreciated." He made his debut on the 4-line chart, sold in the amount of 91,000 copies, and became one of the few projects of women's R&B groups that had been in the top five Billboard 200 for almost a year. The latest achievement belonged to The Pussycat Dolls with PCD . The album was named Gold [1] : 537,487 copies were sold [2] . Three singles “Do It to It”, “Unappreciated” and “Chevy” were released from the album.

2008: The Truth

Their second album, The Truth, was released on May 13, 2008 . The single “ Killa ” hit the Top 40 Pop Charts. In a recent interview, one of the participants, Fallon, commented on the album: “Our acting has grown. When we wrote the album, we called it “The Truth” because all the songs are based on personal experience, and we wanted to share it with our fans. We want people to know that they are not alone in their experiences ” [3] . Participants said they were planning to go on a tour this summer.

In the first week, only 13,000 copies were sold, and the album took 40th place on the Billboard 200 chart. As a result, the album was a commercial failure.
