Kirk James Heinrich (Born Kirk James Hinrich ; born January 2, 1981 in Sioux City , Iowa , USA ) is an American professional basketball player who has recently played for the Atlanta Hawks National Basketball Association . He also played for the US national team , in its composition became the bronze medalist of the FIBA World Cup in 2006 .

Biography
Kirk started playing basketball from an early age, his father Jim is the coach of the school basketball team. Under his leadership, Kirk studied from the third grade until the end of high school. In 1999, he was awarded the title of Iowa's best basketball player among graduates. Heinrich wanted to pursue a career at the University of Iowa , but after the departure of then-head coach Tim Floyd at the Chicago Bulls, Kirk entered the University of Kansas .
After four years in Kansas, where Heinric's best achievement was reaching the final of the student championship with the team in 2003, he was selected in the NBA draft by number 7 by the Chicago Bulls team. In his debut professional season, Kirk staked out a place in the starting five of the Bulls and entered the top five best newcomers of the 2003-2004 season. In the 2006-2007 season, he, along with Chicago partner Ben Wallace , entered the top five defense associations. With the arrival of the defender Derrick Rose of the first number in the 2008 draft pick at the Bulls, Heinrick lost his place in the starting five, the next season he often played in the position of an attacking defender paired with Rose.
On June 24, 2010, the Chicago Bulls Club agreed to exchange Heinric and Kevin Serafin, chosen under the 17th number in the 2010 draft, to Washington Wizards for the right to choose in the second round of the future draft [1] . The exchange was officially carried out on July 8. On February 23, 2011, Heinric and Hilton Armstrong exchanged the Atlanta Hawks team for Mike Bibby , Jordan Crawford , Maurice Evans and the right to choose in the first round of the 2011 draft [2] .
On July 23, 2012, Heinrick returned to Chicago Bulls by signing a two-year contract.
On February 18, 2016, Heinric was exchanged for Atlanta Hawks as a result of a trilateral exchange also involving Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz [3] .
