Monaco population

The national composition (2008) is dominated by: the French (28.24%); then follow the indigenous people - Monegasques (21.50%), Italians (18.57%) and the British (7.50%). The remaining 24.19% of the inhabitants are representatives of 125 nationalities ^[1] .

According to the results of the 2008 census, 144 nationalities were identified among the population of the principality. The overwhelming majority of the population has citizenship of the countries of the European Union and European countries (92.19%).

Age structure of the population

The largest age group in the Principality includes persons aged 45 to 64

years, represents 29.35% of the population. the number of people aged 65 and over has been growing steadily since 1975. It can be noted that the proportion of women in the census has been decreasing regularly for more than twenty years. However, the majority of the population is still female. Men predominate in the 0-24 year old section, while the female population is significantly among people over 65 years old. ^[four]

The average age is 45.5 years. Men - 43.5 years old, women - 47.5 years old.

Over the past 14 years, the natural increase in total is almost zero.

In 2014, the birth rate was 6.59 ‰, the mortality rate was 5.78 ‰, and the natural increase was 0.81%.

In 2015, 7.91% more were born than in 2014, growth was stronger only in 2006 when the number of births was 13.73% more than in 2005. The number of deaths in 2015 also increased by 16.22%. ^[five]
