Sagyz - an oil field located in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan , 20 km east of the Dossor railway station. Exploratory drilling, begun in 1937, led to the discovery of the field.
In tectonic terms, the field is confined to a three-winged salt-dome structure. Oil deposits of the Lower Cretaceous, Middle Jurassic and Permotias. The depth of the Lower Cretaceous horizons is 31-422 m, Middle Jurassic 131-748 m, Permo-Triassic 174-1083 m. The height of the Lower Cretaceous deposits is 6-133 m, Middle Jurassic 10-145 m, Permo-Triassic 60-161 m. Deposits are reservoir, tectonically shielded, reservoir lithologically shielded. Productive horizons are composed of terrigenous sediments, pore collectors.
The density of oil varies from 795 to 897.2 kg / m³. Low paraffin oil (0.33-1.1%), slightly resinous (10.2%), contains 0.09-2.2% sulfur.
