Zhetybai South

South Zhetybai - a gas condensate-oil field is located in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan , 4.5 km south of the Zhetybai field . The field was discovered in 1968. In 1972, deposits were discovered in the Triassic.

The industrial oil and gas potential of Middle Jurassic, Lower Jurassic and Triassic sediments has been established. The productivity floor, in which 15 horizons stand out, reaches 2000 m.

Oil with a density of 855 −868 kg / m³, light is noted only in the V horizon - 841 kg / m³. Gas saturation of reservoir oils varies from 64 to 99 m³ / t.

In the Triassic deposits, the gases are light, the methane component reaches 91%. The content of stable condensate in the Jurassic deposits reaches 108 g / m³, in the Triassic - 125 g / m³.
Currently, the development of the field is conducted by the company OJSC Mangistaumunaigas . Oil production in 2010 amounted to 151 thousand tons.
