5th anti-aircraft missile brigade

5th anti-aircraft missile brigade (5th air defense brigade) - anti-aircraft missile brigade (three divisions) of the 6th combined arms army of the Western military district of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is deployed in the village of Gorelovo, Krasnoselsky District, and in the city of Lomonosov in the Petrodvorets District of St. Petersburg .

Formed from September 20 to November 20, 1961 in Uzhgorod ( USSR ) as the 919th separate anti-aircraft missile regiment, the S-75 complex was put into service. The annual holiday of the unit is December 5th.

From June 1962 to April 1965, the regiment was stationed in the city of Svalyava, Transcarpathian region of the Ukrainian SSR, and was part of the Carpathian military district .

In 1968, the regiment was included in the Central Group of Forces to participate in the Danube operation to suppress attempts to reform the political system of Czechoslovakia ( Prague Spring ) and relocated to the village of Cherven-Voda .

In 1971, the regiment was re-equipped with the new Krug complex and transformed into the 5th anti-aircraft missile brigade. The new location of the unit was the village of Kuřivody, near the city of Mimon, as part of the 28th Army Corps of the Central Group of Forces.

In 1989, the brigade switched to the Buk-M1 complex, and in June 1990 it was relocated to the city of Shuya, Ivanovo Region, and became part of the 22nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Moscow Military District.

From 1993 to 1999, the brigade carried out a peacekeeping mission in combat duty in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone, to cover airspace in the vicinity of the Gudauta military base.

In 2009, the brigade was redeployed to the village of Nenimaki, Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region and the city of Lomonosov, Petrodvorets district of the city ​​of St. Petersburg, and became part of the Leningrad military district .

In 2012, the management of the brigade and units stationed in the village of Nenimyaki were redeployed to the village of Gorelovo, Krasnoselsky District , St. Petersburg [1] .

It is assumed that in 2016-2017 the team switched to the Buk-M2 complex [2] [3] .
