History

Formed in the period from June 15 to July 20, 1941 in Izhevsk and Votkinsk [1] ( Ural VO ) as part of the implementation of the Decree of the State Defense Committee of the USSR No. 48ss, dated July 8, 1941 [2] . In Izhevsk, the formation, training and coordination of subdivisions of 313 sd took place in the territory of the Park of Culture named after SM Kirov . The combat readiness of the formation was determined by August 1, 1941 [3] , with the location of the city ​​of Izhevsk UASSR . Upon completion of the formation of the directive of the General Staff No. 001357, dated August 28, 1941, it was sent to the Karelian Front (to Petrozavodsk ) and entered the active army on September 5, 1941.

During September 1941, the 313rd fought with the troops of the Finnish Karelian army advancing on Petrozavodsk. After the abandonment of Petrozavodsk by directive of the High Command Command No. 002952, dated October 13, 1941, was transferred from the 7th Separate Army to the Medvezhiegorsk OG of the Karelian Front. From December 1941 she occupied the positional defense to the west of Medvezhegorsk .

From 3 to 10 January 1942, the division participated in the unsuccessful Medvezhiegorsk offensive operation . Later on, until the summer of 1944, it was in positional defense .

As part of the Svir-Petrozavodsk offensive operation ( June 21 - August 9, 1944), the division as part of the 32nd army initially attacked Petrozavodsk , and after the liberation of this city - to the west, towards the Soviet-Finnish border. With the participation of the formation, in addition to Petrozavodsk, the cities of Medvezhegorsk ( June 23, 1944), Kondopoga (June 28, 1944), Suojärvi (July 13, 1944) were liberated. For the difference in the liberation of the Petrozavodsk division, the honorary name Petrozavodskaya was given.

After the conclusion of an armistice with Finland, the division on November 2, 1944, was withdrawn to the reserve of the Supreme Command Headquarters and redeployed to Northern Poland as part of the 19th Army . On January 29, 1945, the division re-enters the army, having entered the 2nd Byelorussian Front together with other units of the 19th Army.

In the course of the 1945 campaign as part of the East Pomeranian operation, the 313rd Infantry Division takes part in the Coinitz-Kezlinsky ( February 10 - March 6, 1945) and Danzig ( March 7 - 31, 1945) offensive operations. With the participation of the 313rd Infantry Division, on March 28, 1945, Gdynia was liberated. In the bloody battles for Gdynia, a significant part of the division personnel was killed.

The division was disbanded in connection with the demobilization of the USSR , the directive of the Supreme Command Headquarters No. 11097, dated May 29, 1945.
