Beverley McLachlin ( Beverley McLachlin ) - Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada in 2000-2017 (the first woman in this position and the record holder for the length of stay in it). She is also the chairman of the Canadian Council of Magistracy, the chairman of the Advisory Council of the Order of Canada , and the chairman of the Administrative Council of the State Institute of Magistracy. Member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada , companion to the Order of Canada (2017).

Biography
Beverly McLucklin was born on September 7, 1943 at Pincher Creek in Alberta . At the University of Alberta, she received a bachelor's degree in art , a master's degree in philosophy, and she is also a bachelor of law and the best in her graduation.
After training, from 1969 to 1975 she studied law and from 1974 to 1981 worked as a teacher at the University of British Columbia .
Career
Her career as a judge began in 1981 at the Vancouver County Court, on September 8, 1981, she was appointed judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and December 5, 1985 - Court of Appeal of British Columbia. On September 7, 1988, she was appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, on March 30, 1989, she entered the country's highest court, the Supreme Court of Canada, and on January 7, 2000, she became Chief Justice of Canada.
On July 1, 2008, she led the election committee, introducing physician Henry Morgenthaler , known as an abortion physician and activist for the choice , to the Order of Canada .
In 2017, she completed a judicial career in Canada. In 2018, appointed inconsistent judge of the .
