Biography

Mikhail had an interest in shooting since childhood, he even did "shooting" with his own hands. [one]

In the fifth grade I enrolled in the Sport and Shooting Club DSO "Spartak", on Scooter Street in Moscow . For many years, Vladimir Isaakovich Abramovich became his personal trainer. In parallel, he was also involved in athletics , skiing and football . [2] Six months after the start of training, at the age of 13 he fulfilled the standard of a candidate for master of sports, and at 14 he became a master of sports of the USSR. [3] Since 1989, he played for the national team of the Soviet Union.

In the 90s, he served in Germany as a member of a group of Soviet troops, where he was invited to speak for a sports club. But a month after the athlete arrived in Germany, the club was disbanded, so the next five years, until his return to Russia, Mikhail served as an officer in charge of physical training of personnel. During all this time, he did not have the opportunity to train and compete. [3] Since 1995, is a member of the Russian national team.

After a successful performance at the Athens Olympics, Nestruyev wanted to leave professional sports, he wanted to continue his career in sports as a leader and specialist. I found a solution for myself:

If a person comes to sports, it is primarily because he seeks to demonstrate himself to others. So, at every start you need to stand out. I have the opportunity to speak close to the absolute result. [four]

He graduated from the Moscow Regional Institute of Physical Culture , Voronezh Branch, in 1992.

He was in military service at CSKA . Lieutenant colonel.

Currently, his personal trainer is Larisa Efimova , international master of sports in shooting.

2004 Olympics

Nestruev took part in the Olympics for the first time in 2000 , but failed to win medals, remaining fourth in a 10-meter air pistol shot. By the beginning of the games in Athens , Mikhail already had 4 gold world championships and numerous victories at the World Cup.

10m Air Gun

On August 14, Michael set an Olympic record of 591 points in shooting with a 10 meter pneumatic pistol in the qualifying round (series results 99 + 99 + 98 + 100 + 97 + 98), ahead of the famous Chinese Wang Yifu by 1 point and 7 points ahead 3rd place Russian Vladimir Isakov . In the final, a stubborn struggle for gold was between Nestruyev and Van Ifu, who won medals (gold + 2 silver) in this discipline at three Olympics in a row (1992, 1996 and 2000). With the first shot, the Chinese won back the gap by 1 point (10.5 versus 9.5 for Mikhail), then the athletes were on a par. Wang Yifu got an unsuccessful eighth shot - only 8.9 points versus 10.2 for Mikhail (this shot was one of the worst among all 80 shots of the finalists), with the next shot the Russian knocked out only 9.3 (the worst shot in the final for him) versus 10.3 for Wang Ifu. Before the last shot, the result was the same for the athletes. The tenth shot hit the Chinese athlete 9.9, and Nestruyev - only 9.7 (the worst 10th shot among all the finalists). Thus, Mikhail received only silver, 0.2 points behind Van Yifu and ahead of Isakov’s bronze medalist by 5.5.

Small caliber pistol 50 m

Just two days after losing to the Chinese athlete, Mikhail went to the start in firing from a small-caliber pistol at 50 meters. It should be noted that while Mikhail was winning 3 times in world championships in shooting with a pneumatic pistol at 10 meters, then in shooting at 50 meters he only won silver in the team championship twice. Nevertheless, on August 17, 2004, Mikhail showed the 2nd qualification result (565 points), 2 points behind Korean leader Chin John O. In this case, in the 5th series, Mikhail knocked out 98 out of 100 - the absolutely best series of all 252 series of 42 shooters in the qualification. In the final, the shooting of Chin John O and Nestruyev as a whole was quite equal except for two serious Korean disruptions - 7.6 in the 3rd shot and especially 6.9 in the 7th shot (the absolutely worst shot of the final). Only in these 2 shots did Mikhail win 3.7 points against the Korean, eventually outperforming him by 1.8 points. Thus, Mikhail Nestruyev for the first time became the Olympic champion.
