Tole bi street ( Kazakh. Tule bi keshesі ; until 1927 - Gymnasium , until 1991 - Komsomolskaya ) - a street in the city of Alma-Ata , located in Medeu, Almalinsky and Auezovsky districts of the city. Named after Tole Bi .

Content

History

Between the modern Ualikhanov Street and Dostyk Avenue , the Vernensky Gymnasium and Gymnasium were located, so until 1927 the street was called the Gymnasium [1] .

In the old part of the city, which developed by the end of the 19th century, Komsomolskaya Street was completely reconstructed during the years of Soviet power, and starting from the Esentai River (Vesnovka) it was built up in a westerly direction [1] .

In 1937, a tram line was laid along the street, then partially reconstructed during reconstruction [1] .

Between Panfilov Street and Abylay Khan Avenue on Tole Bi Street, Astana Square is located, which was called Lenin Square in Soviet times, and it is popularly called Almaty Square.

Renewal east

In the fall of 2016, work was completed to extend the street east from Kairbekov Street to the Eastern Bypass Road (VOAD). At the intersection with VOAD a large multifunctional transport interchange was put into operation [2] .

State Republican Children's Library named after S. Begalin

State Republican Children's Library named after S. Begalin (Tole bi, 27 - Dostyk , 15). On the corner of Dostyk Avenue and Tole Bi Street there is a building built in 1910 , which housed the boarding school of the Vernensky Men's Gymnasium , and since 1919 - the Vernensky City Komsomol Committee. For many years thereafter, the A.S. Pushkin Republican Library (now the National Library) was located in this house. Now in this building is the Republican Children's Library. S. Begalin [3] .

Legal and psychological-pedagogical faculties of KazNPU named after Abay .

Cinema "Alatau" (Tole Bi St., 41, corner of Kunaev St.). It had a hall with 592 seats. The soundtrack of the films was carried out in the formats Mono / Dolby-A / Dolby-SR / Dolby Digital / Surround EX / SDDS (Sony), providing 8-channel digital sound. The total power of the speakers is 14,000 watts. The equipment is intended for rental films of the first category and premiere cinema halls [4] . Demolished in 2016, one of the buildings of the McDonalds fast food chain was built in its place.

 
Kazpotrebsoyuz building

Former administrative building of Kazpotrebsoyuz (Tole bi street, 57, corner of Panfilov street). Built in 1953-1957, the authors of the project were: architects B. N. Stesin, G. Bobovich, M. Becker; engineer V. Lukhtanov. It is an example of the architecture of administrative buildings in Kazakhstan of the 50s of the XX century and an architectural monument [5] .

 
KBTU building

Kazakh-British Technical University (Tole bi str., 59, corner of Abylay Khan Avenue). The university is located in the former building of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR (Government House), which was built in 1951 - 1957 . The building was designed in the workshop of Mosproject under the direction of the architect B.R. Rubanenko, working drawings were carried out by Kazgorstroyproekt under the direction of P.A. Mamontov, G.A. Kalish. [6] .

Monuments

The monument to Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova is located in the square on Astana Square along Tole Bi Street.

The monument to Sabit Mukanov was erected in a park at the intersection of Mukanov Street and Tole Bi Street.

Public Transport

  • A dedicated bus line runs from Yassawi Street to Zheltoksan Street along the street (initially it went to Kunaev Street, Astana square was shortened in June 2017).
  • Along the street there was a tram line from Baitursynov Street to Momyshuly Street, the corner of Marechek Street (now inactive), and from the Brusilovsky Street (formerly Rudnev) to Momyshuly-Marechek Street, the line was highlighted.
