The history of the university was laid by the decision of the OGPU college of December 26, 1931 on the opening of a new educational institution of the border profile called the Second School of Border Guard and the OGPU troops in the village of Pomerki in the suburbs of Kharkov . In April 1938, the school was renamed the Kharkov Military School of Border and Internal Troops of the NKVD. F.E. Dzerzhinsky with a two-year study period. The Academy of the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established on the basis of the Higher Border Command of the Red Banner Order of the October Revolution of the F.
