Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute

On August 21, 1939, the Presidium of the Kostanay Executive Regional Committee of the Council of Workers 'Deputies, in agreement with the Council of People's Commissars of the Kazakh SSR and the People's Commissariat of Education of the Republic, adopted a resolution "On the organization of the Kustanai Teachers' Institute and its branches." Based on it, it was prescribed to organize a two-year institute from September 1, 1939 as part of the physical-mathematical and natural-geographical faculties, to enroll in the institute in the amount of 240 people (120 - to the main faculties, 50 - to the correspondence sector, 70 - to the preparatory department) . The staffing of the institute included 4 departments (the foundations of Marxism - Leninism, pedagogy, physics and mathematics, natural sciences and geography) and 13 teaching units, but they were not immediately and not all filled. The first set of students was formed mainly from among the youth of the Kustanai region ^[1] .

The preparatory department lasted one year. His graduates in 1940 were enrolled at the institute, and a new recruitment for this department was no longer carried out ^[1] .

In 1941, 22 students, 8 teachers and employees of the institute left for the Red Army. There were calls for students and teachers in the army in all subsequent years of the war. The teaching staff during the war years was significantly replenished due to the evacuated university workers. The emergence of new qualifications made it possible in the autumn of 1942 to open a department of the Russian language and literature and the corresponding department at the institute. In 1944, the institute was given the name of Amangeldy Imanov . In 1949, the Institute of History also opened ^[1] .

In accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR of July 1, 1955 and in order to improve the quality of training of secondary school teachers and meet the needs of the Kustanai region, the Ministry of Education of the Republic on July 5, 1955 decided to organize the A. Imanov Kustanai Pedagogical Institute on the basis of the teacher institute (KSPI) ^[1] .

In 1972, the Kostanay State Pedagogical Institute named after A. Imanov was awarded the title "named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR" ^[1] .

In 1984, the staff of the Pedagogical Institute became the winner in the all-Union socialist competition among organizations and institutions of the USSR Ministry of Education system for the successful completion and overfulfillment of the tasks of the third year of the eleventh five-year period. He was awarded the challenge Red Banner of the Ministry of Education of the USSR and the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Education Workers, Higher Schools and Scientific Institutions ^[1] .

In the 1990-1991 academic year, 93 teachers with academic degrees worked at 34 departments in KSPI, including 3 professors and doctors of sciences ^[1] . By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 6, 1992 No. 662, it was transformed into Kustanai University ^[2] . The Pedagogical Institute has been a part of the university for almost 12 years. During this time, teacher specialties were largely preserved, but some of them were lost, transformed.

In 2004, the Government decided to create five pedagogical universities in the country, including the Kostanai State Pedagogical Institute. On April 1, 2004, the KSPI again became an independent university ^[1] .
