Content
History
It was founded on August 5, 1945 on the basis of the Primorsky Group of Forces . The field control of the front is formed on the basis of the field control of the Karelian front . The troops of the 1st Far Eastern Front were located in Primorye from Guberovo Station to the border with Korea [1] .
From August 9 to September 2, 1945, the front participated in the strategic Manchurian operation in the Harbin-Girin direction . The troops of the 1st Far Eastern Front, in cooperation with the Transbaikal , 2nd Far Eastern fronts and the Pacific Fleet in the conditions of mountainous taiga, broke through the fortified strip and defeated the troops of the Japanese 1st and 17th fronts of the Kwantung Army. They took several eastern regions of Manchuria and the Liaodong Peninsula .
On August 11, units of the 25th army crossed the Sino-Korean border in the Gyeonggiung area. On August 15, the Japanese command announced the surrender of its troops in Korea [2] .
On October 1, 1945, the front was disbanded. On the basis of his troops and field control, the Primorsky Military District was formed .
