Biography

According to Bashakov himself, he has been writing poetry and music since he was 15 years old.

Since the beginning of the 80s, he played in many groups.

In 1987, together with Vladimir Dukharin, he founded the Trickster group.

In 1989-1990 performances at festivals of the Leningrad Rock Club , "Aurora 89", "Europe-Asia", at a rock festival in the city of Cherepovets . In the same period, the group changes its name to " Perfume ." The highlight of the group was the original decision to use the button accordion as the band's second solo instrument.

In 1991, the first album, Happiness , was recorded. The band’s second album, Kinshanduha, never saw the light of day.

After the breakup of the Bashakov group, together with a certain Sulin, he creates the techno-guitar project “Hi-Fi Parachutes”, which is successful in clubs in Germany and Switzerland .

In 1998, on the basis of the jazz band Calypso Blues Band, Bashakov created the Bashakov Band group (later renamed Bashakov, which has now returned to its original name). He quickly records the album “The Sun Under the Wing” at the St. Petersburg Dobrolet Studio.

The composition of the group at that time: Mikhail Bashakov - vocals; Dmitry Kustov - guitar, backing vocals; Alexey Emelyanov - bass; Victor Bolotov - drums; Konstantin Utkin - keys, button accordion, accordion; Alexander Gureev - saxophone.

A big resonance is produced by the joint hit of Bashakov and the leader of this ensemble Evgeny Feklistov - “Alice” to the Smokie music performed by the duet on the band’s debut album “The End of the Film”. The huge popularity of “Alice” and the need to perform his own songs from the stage prompted Michael to attend to the creation of a new group. In the club of the author’s song, Bashakov met the singer and songwriter Nastya Makarova, who studied at the Institute of Culture . Nastya was imbued with his music and brought friends, as a result of which in February 2000 a new lineup of Bashakov band musicians formed: Anastasia Makarova - harmonica, backing vocals; Rinat Safargaliev - bass; Roman Nikolaev - drums. Soon, the current guitarist was replaced by Alexei Fedichev, and after a few months the ranks of the group were strengthened by the appeared keyboardist Maxim Lyapin.

The line-up debuted at the Zoo on March 17, 2000 , after which it began to regularly perform in St. Petersburg and Moscow . In addition, Bashakov actively participated in the acoustic events of the creative community “Mighty Kuchka”, which developed around the group “ Wintering of animals ”, and also joined in a trio with the poet and singer “Wintering” Kostya Arbenin and author-performer Kirill Komarov . In June 2000, the Bashakov Band performed at the long-running festival “Animalism” on the stage of the “Zoo”. Over time, the band split into electric and acoustic fractions. The latter included Nastya Makarova and the leader of the Tanki group, guitarist and singer Dmitry Maksimachev. Meanwhile, the electric version remained surprisingly stable. Pavel Kashin, who returned from the States, released in May 2001 the long-planned and long-held album “Hero” from songs both by Bashakov himself and by them together.

In early 2001, Bashakov signed a contract with the RMM company, which was created by Igor Punker Gudkov and Anton Soya . He performed at the Invasion festival in Ramenskoye (August 2001) and contacted CD Land, which in 2002 released his first CD, Formula of Spring, which included songs recorded over several years at four different studios, including the indispensable “Alice” (in two versions), his next radiant hit “Sambadi”, as well as “A Heart Full of Silence”, “Dance”, “Pocket”, “Saber” and one of his best poetic works century "Operation (to remove love)." By that time, the prefix “Band” had disappeared and in the future the group appeared on posters and album covers exclusively as “Bashakov”.

In 2003, Bashakova’s acoustic program, a live album called “Little Live,” released by the group under its own label, received material embodiment.

Nikolaev, who finally connected his fate with Doo Bop Sound, was replaced in June 2003 by drummer Vadim Markov. His debut took place on Bashakova’s next album, Resistance to Dislike. In addition to the title song, which became a kind of program for the musician, he included another cover of the “Don't worry, be happy” cover (in the original “ Don't Worry, Be Happy ” by Bobby McFerrin ), the new version of the song “Spirits” “Bright day ”and“ Little Circus ”, composed by Bashakov together with Fedichev, who was invited in April to replace Vadim Kurylyov in DDT . Partly due to this, the album was recorded at the DDT Studio, and Igor Dotsenko and Alexander Brovko from DDT participated in the work on it.

In January 2004, Sveta Surganova invited Vadim Markov to her “Orchestra” - for some time he combined both groups (in particular, played with “Bashakov” at the June festival “ Open Windows !”) - but in the next album “Information”, which he recorded on The “Baltika” is the irreplaceable Kolya Almaev, Dmitry Veselov (ex- “ Loop Nesterova ”, “ Aquarium ”, Vermicelli Orchestra ) played drums, and the rest of the roles were played by Fedichev, Maksimachev, Makarova and Emets. The album, published by Nikitin (she also reprinted “The Sun Under the Wing”), included fresh songs, material from previous years (“The Last Day of the 2000th Spring,” “Mischief”) and a new version of “Good” “Spirits”.

Due to the fact that Fedichev was tightly engaged with DDT, Lyapin played jazz, Veselov emigrated to Scandinavia , and Maksimachev traveled around the world as a Billy's Band sound engineer, in 2004-2005 Bashakov performed, for the most part, solo or with a small acoustic composition, closely collaborated with Mighty Kuchka and participated in various charity events. In the same year, he independently released the best album distributed at concerts. The Bashakov group could get together again only at the end of 2005, when Mikhail had a lot of new material, a capable debutant Denis Vasilevsky came for the drums, and work on the band’s next album began at DDT Studio.

During his life he tried and, of course, excelled in a wide variety of professions, from a loader to a cameraman. Mikhail’s cinematographic past has left several short films, the video “Spirits” for the song “Intelligent”, the script for Pavel Kashin’s video “The Sunflower”, as well as the script and storyboards for his own video “The Game”, shot by Boris Dedenev in 1997.

Repeated headliner of the Baikal-live art festival (Baikal, Irkutsk).

In 2018, he took part in the recording of the anti-war collection Anti-Army. We do not need war! ” [1] .
