Club career
Ricardo Oliveira started playing football at the Corinthians school in 1997. In 1999, he continued to study at the “ Portuguese Desportos ”, where the next year he got into the first team [2] .
In early 2003, Ricardo moved to Santos. For this club, he scored in the group stage and in the playoffs of the Libertadores Cup 2003 , and also took part in both matches of the lost Boca Juniors finals [3] .
July 31, 2003, the attacker signed a contract with the Spanish “ Valencia ” [4] . Under the leadership of Rafael Benitez, he scored eight goals in the La Liga 21 game, becoming the champion of Spain, and also added the UEFA Cup to the gold medals of the championship.
However, in the next season, Oliveira moved to Real Betis for € 4 million [5] . In the first season for the new team, he scored 22 goals in 37 matches in the championship, which helped the club to take fourth place in the standings and for the first time in history to get into the Champions League [6] . At the beginning of 2006, Oliveira went on loan to Sao Paulo to be seen by the Brazilian national team head coach before the 2006 World Cup .
On August 31, 2006, Ricardo signed a five-year contract with Milan . Betis received € 17.5 million for the transition. In addition, the transfer to Johann Vogel’s “green-white” camp was part of the deal [7] . For “Rosseri” he made his debut in the second half of the game against “ Lazio ”, scoring a goal from the goal line, which helped his team win with a score of 2: 1. However, Ricardo managed to score only two goals in all subsequent matches of the league and twice more scored in the Italian Cup .
On July 14, 2007, the striker returned to Spain on loan to Real Zaragoza . At the end of the rental period, the “Aragonese” took advantage of the option according to which they had the right to redeem the player’s contract for a set fee. May 10, 2008 Zaragoza bought Oliveira for € 10 million [8] .
At the end of January 2009, Oliveira returned to Real Betis for € 8.9 million compensation [9] . In the debut match, he scored the second goal in the 83rd minute against the goal of “ Seville ”, which helped his team win the principled derby with a score of 2: 1 [10] . Betis was ultimately downgraded after a 1-1 home draw with Real Valladolid [11] .
In mid-July 2009, Oliveira, having already begun pre-season training with Betis, transferred to Al-Jazeera , the deal amounted to about € 14 million [12] . The following January, he returned to his country, moving on loan to Sao Paulo.
On March 7, 2012, in the opening match of Al-Jazeera in the 2012 AFC Champions League, Oliveira scored the last goal of his team against Nasaf , but his team lost with a score of 4: 2. However, on May 2, he scored a hat-trick in a match against the same opponent and brought the team a 4-1 victory. Two weeks later, he scored four goals in an away game against Al-Rayyan , ultimately his club won 4-3.
In the 1/8 match of the tournament against Al-Ahly Jeddah , Oliveira scored twice, ultimately the match ended in a draw 3: 3, but then Ricardo did not realize his hit in the penalty shootout and his team lost with a score of 2: 4. At the end of January 2014, after the arrival of Felipe Caichedo and Jusilei, he was fired [13] .
On January 12, 2015, Oliveira returned to Santos, agreeing on a five-month contract [14] . After his return on February 1, he played the first match, having entered the second half of the game instead of Zhovanio, his team defeated Ituano 3-0 [15] .
May 1, 2015, becoming the club’s top scorer in the season of the Paulista League and the best player of the tournament, Oliveira extended his contract until December 2017 [16] . In the championship, he scored two goals in matches against his former club São Paulo (defeat at a party 2: 3) [17] and Chapecoens (home win 3: 1) [18] , in the end he became the best scorer of the Series A with 20 goals.
