History
It was formed on July 20, 1922 on the basis of the 104th Infantry Brigade of the 35th Infantry Division as the 1st Trans-Baikal Infantry Division, then renamed the Pacific Rifle Division, in 1936 it was renamed the 39th Pacific Rifle Division.
In 1929, she fought north of Lake Khanka .
In August 1938, part of the forces participated in the Hasan battles .
On June 22, 1941, it was stationed in Dalnegorsk .
In the hostilities during World War II did not participate.

08/09/1945, with the outbreak of hostilities with Japan and the Manchurian strategic operation, it was in the second echelon of the army’s strike force, 08.08.1945, under the command of General Semenov, after the march crossed the Shitohe River , also advancing in the second echelon and fighting with striking the flag Japanese parts. In battles in the Mudanjiang area, the division, together with the 231st Infantry Division , defeated the 1st motorized brigade of the enemy, which included many suicide bombers. August 20 entered the city of Harbin . In the battles for this city, Major General V. A. Semenov was wounded and sent to the hospital. The assigned task of breaking through a heavily fortified, deeply echeloned enemy defense on the bridgehead of the river. Mulinhe division successfully completed. Skillfully using mobile units, she marched hundreds of kilometers with battles, clearing dozens of large settlements from the Japanese troops. With its actions, the division ensured the further advancement of the army.
By 08/25/1945, she finished concentrating on the Harbin direction.
May 17, 1957 reorganized into the 129th motorized infantry division. [one]
