On March 19, 1981, the governor of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, Archimandrite Jerome (Zinoviev), was tonsured a monk with the name Tikhon , in honor of St. Tikhon , Bishop of Voronezh; on the same day [2], the rector of the MDA, Archbishop Vladimir Dmitrovsky (Sabodan), was ordained a hieromonk .

In 1981, he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy with a candidate of theology degree.

According to his statement: “[in 1986] I was invited as a deputy to the Department for External Church Relations , which was then headed by Metropolitan Filaret (Vakhromeev) , I quit the publishing house, came to him, but he didn’t accept me, and I was left without any church obedience . ” [3]

In 1986, he lived in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, then moved to the Moscow Danilov Monastery (he was an assistant to the housekeeper , and then the housekeeper).

May 12, 1987 was appointed governor of the Danilov Monastery. By his own admission: “At this time, the monastery was actively reviving, construction and finishing works were carried out almost around the clock, 3,500 workers worked - they all tried to be in time by June 1988, when events dedicated to the millennium of the Baptism of Russia were to take place in Moscow. There were enough funds: each parish of the Russian Orthodox Church considered it his duty to make donations for the restoration of the Danilov Monastery, ordinary Muscovites donated ancient icons, church utensils. Famous people from all over the world came to see the construction site. Everyone understood that great changes were coming in the USSR ” [4] .

Bishops

On January 25, 1990, by decree of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, he was determined to be bishop of Novosibirsk and Barnaul.

At that time, the issue of the Journal of the Moscow Patriarchate was temporarily suspended. In the first nine months of 1995, only two issues came out: No. 5 (for Easter ) and a special issue. Through the efforts of the new editor-in-chief, Bishop Tikhon, the missing numbers were prepared for several months, and the debt to the subscribers of the ZhMP was eliminated. By his own admission, “in 2000, His Holiness the Patriarch invited me to head one of the dioceses in the European part of Russia. However, in the same year, Bishop Sergius of Novosibirsk and Berdsk died, and I told His Holiness the Patriarch that I could return to Novosibirsk. I knew the city and the region well, with all representatives of the authorities, with the directors of large factories, I developed good relations in the early 90's ” [4] .

In early August 2004, Archbishop Tikhon of Novosibirsk and Berd and his parents donated a house and a land plot to the church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious in Voronezh . On November 19, 2004, the registration of the newly formed parish took place.
