Verlaine is a duet that includes authors and performers of the author’s song - Vera Evushkina and Elena Frolova . The name of the duo is made up of the names of Vera and Lena, and is a refrain of the name of the French poet Paul Verlaine , and also coincides with the name of the famous poem Innocent Annensky "Verlaine" [1] .
The duo’s repertoire includes songs based on poems by poets of the Silver Age and modern Russian poets, spiritual poetry, and songs based on poems by foreign poets [2] .
History
The acquaintance of Elena Frolova with Vera Evushkina was preceded by the acquaintance of Elena Frolova with Elena Kamburova in Minsk in 1988, where her appearance coincided with the concerts of Elena Kamburova. In the same year, Elena Frolova's triumphant performance at the Second All-Union Festival of Author's Song in Tallinn took place . After that, Elena Frolova went to Moscow, where she met Vera Evushkina [3] .
So in November 1988, the creative duet “VerLen” was formed. They were invited to work under their roof by the newly formed Moscow Theater of Music and Poetry under the direction of Elena Kamburova [4] .
