Located north of the A131 road, 10 km from the village of Loimola and 11 km from the village of Piitsiyoki .
The lake belongs to the basin of Lake Ladoga , has an oblong shape (stretched from north to south).
From the lake flows the river Kollasjoki . In the area of the lake there is a large number of mass graves of Soviet, Finnish and German soldiers who died during the years of the Soviet-Finnish and World War II .
