Story
The US military found a spacecraft at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean that fell there 300 years ago. A group of scientists who have been gathered to study the ship, finds within it a huge sphere. The sphere can embody the most secret human nightmares and fantasies.

Screen adaptation
In 1998, director Barry Levinson shot the film Sphere . The leading roles were played by famous actors Dustin Hoffman , Sharon Stone and Samuel L. Jackson . The plot of the film basically follows the plot of the book, however there are many differences. The film received negative reviews from critics and failed at the box office.
