History
Jeremy Clarkson , who helped Top Gear in its original format reach its peak in the 1990s, along with producer Andy Wilman, suggested the BBC not to close the show (such a decision was made in 2001), but to create for him new format.

Transmission Elements
Racing

Awards and nominations

США
16 июня 2008 Эн-би-си и Би-би-си официально объявили о появлении американской версии «Top Gear». Пилотная версия была снята 26 июля 2008 , она была максимально похожа на Английскую версию. NBC решила запустить «Top Gear» в середине телевизионного сезона 2009 года.

Американский вариант получил второй шанс в феврале 2010, когда было объявлено, что канал «History» заказал сезон на 10-12 серий. [33] Съемки начались в августе 2010, премьера назначена на конец 2010. [34]
Австралия

Официально о появлении русской версии «Top Gear» было объявлено на веб-сайте 14 октября 2008 года . Первоначально планировалось выпустить 15 эпизодов [35] . China
