“ Battle Royale ” ( Japanese バ ト ル ・ ロ ワ イ ア ル Batoru rovayaru , eng. Battle Royale ) is a manga based on Kosyun Takami ’s novel “ Battle Royale ”, drawn by Masayuki Taguchi . Fifteen volumes of manga were published by Akita Publishing , and before that they had been published in Young Champion Magazine for five years. [1] In Russia, manga was licensed by Sakura-press . [2] There is also a sequel called Battle Royale II: Blitz Royale .

Content
The difference between the plot and the original novel
Battle Royale practically does not recede from the plot of the novel and is closer to it than the film of the same name. [3]
A group of students gets to the island, where they are forced to fight each other to death. As a result, there should be only one winner who will receive a lifetime pension from the state.
However, more erotic elements and a graphically detailed depiction of violent scenes have been added to the manga.
Characters
The main characters, as in the original novel, are Shuya Nanahara , the soft and caring girl Noriko Nakagawa , Shogo Kawada , computer genius Shinji Mimura , unprincipled Mitsuko Soma and ruthless Kazuo Kiriyama .
