The release of A New Day Has Come marked the return of Celine Dion to the world music industry after her three-year "creative leave". The recording of “A New Day Has Come” began on August 28, 2001 at Piccolo Studios (Studios Piccolo) in Montreal . The album's worldwide release date was March 25, 2002, it was released in North America on March 26, and immediately debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album also debuted as number one in 17 countries, including the UK and Canada. The album became three times platinum in the USA and six times platinum in Canada.
