Until the 21st century, the administrative center of Oromia was the city of Addis Ababa , whose name in the Oromo language sounds like Finfin. The transfer of the administrative center of Oromia to Adamu caused many disputes. On June 10, 2005, the Democratic Organization of the Oromo People , which is part of the ruling coalition in the country, announced that it intends to move the Oromia administrative center back to Addis Ababa .
