History

Formed by order of the commander of the Trans-Baikal Military District on 04/04/1939 from the enlisted composition of the Irkutsk region in connection with the conflict on the river. Khalkhin-Gol and sent to the reserve of the 1st Army Group (formally included in the active army 07/24/16/09/1939, but did not directly participate in hostilities). After the conflict ended, the division continued to be deployed on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Military District.

On 06/22/1941, the unit was directly subordinate to the commander of the Trans-Baikal Military District troops (in July 1941 transferred to the 36th Army ) ZabVO. By the Directive of the General Staff No. 001804 of 09/10/1941, the division was sent to the Ural Military District and was initially deployed in the Kirov region, and by directive of the General Staff No. 002203 of 09/24/1941 to the Vologda region. By the Directive of the General Staff of the Red Army No. 2579 / op of 10.2.1941, the division was sent to the 7th separate army and entered the army on 5.10.1941. 10/09/1941 114th SD was included in the 7th Army , taking up positions in the Great Yard. Here, October 14-27, 1941 participated in the battle against the Finnish 7th division advancing from the north. As a result of the battles, none of the parties was able to achieve their goals. Then, until the spring of 1942, the division occupied a positional defense in this direction. 11-27.4.1942 114th SD participated in the unsuccessful offensive operation of the 7th Army. 07/06/1942 withdrawn to the army reserve (region of Pechenitsy), 08/23/1942 again sent to the front line, replacing the 21st SD in the section Bardovskaya - pos. Svir-3 (28 km). It defended itself until the summer of 1944 .

On 10.06.1944, on the eve of the offensive, the division surrendered its area to the 69th Marine Rifle Brigade , after which it was withdrawn to the Shotkus area, included in the 4th Rifle Corps , with which it participated in the Svir-Petrozavodsk offensive operation on 06/21/09/08/1944.

In September 1944, the 114th SD, along with a number of other formations of the Karelian Front, was relocated to the Kola Peninsula and incorporated into the 14th Army . 07-29.10.1944 114th SD participated in the Petsamo-Kirkenes offensive operation .

The first to cross the border with Norway were parts of this particular division.

At the end of this operation, it was stationed in Norway . Disbanded in June 1946 .
